4 Cary schools placed on lockdown due to 'police activity'

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Four schools in Cary were on lockdown Friday afternoon due to nearby police activity from Cary Police.

Greg Thomas with the Wake County Public Schools System says Middle Creek Elementary and High Schools, as well as West Lake Middle and Elementary Schools were on "code yellow" lockdown from 12:25 or 12:48 until 12:53 p.m.

Deanna Boone with the Town of Cary says a woman in a nearby neighorhood called 911 after spotting a man in a mask in her backyard.

Boone says the man was apparently scared off by an alarm

A "code yellow" means exterior doors are locked with no entry or exit, but normal inside activity is permitted.
