North Carolina State Auditor Beth Wood has brought new meaning to the term "wings of love."
Wood's spokesman said Monday the first-term Democrat got married to Sam Sparks last Saturday at the general aviation terminal at Raleigh-Durham International Airport in Morrisville. Sparks works for Progress Energy.
Spokesman Dennis Patterson said the couple plan to honeymoon next week. Wood has been married previously.
The 57-year-old Wood plans to seek re-election this fall.
