The road to London, at least for table tennis, goes through Cary as the U.S. Olympic Table Tennis trials will be in the city next week.
Competition begins Thursday with a qualifying tournament. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will feature a round-robin competition between the top 12 men and top 12 women in the United States as they vie to represent their country at the North America 2012 Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament, also to be held in Cary, in April.
Tickets, with prices starting at just $5, can be purchased online or at the Cary Arts Center Box Office. Based on availability, tickets will also be available on site at Bond Park Community Center beginning with the start of competition.
The top placewinners from the U.S. Trials will go on to compete in the North American Olympic Trials to be held in Cary April 20-22. The top two women and top three men from this event will qualify to represent their country at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
