If you’re an N.C. State or North Carolina fan, you may have seen a photo of a sign at the entrance to Chapel Hill being splattered with red.
If you wear light blue, it likely made your blood boil.
And if you’re a Wolfpack fan, perhaps you howled … or chuckled … or maybe grimaced.
The photo has been blowing up the Twitter feeds and Facebook sites of students at the schools, and of fans. Even Pack Pride, the popular site for N.C. State fans, found it on Twitter and posted it, editor James Henderson said.
But did it really happen before Thursday's 7 p.m. game between the longtime rivals in the Smith Center?
Apparently not.
The Chapel Hill Police said they have no reports of a sign being spray-painted.
And Randy Young, the spokesman for UNC Public Safety, said his office knew nothing about about a sign being defaced.
Several people on NBC-17’s Facebook page said the spray-painting may have happened in the past.
