Fire crews in Durham were able to extinguish a brush fire on Old Oxford Road Saturday afternoon.

Crews were called to 2310 Old Oxford Road for a brush fire.  Officials say there were several brush fires in Durham, but the one on Old Oxford Road was the biggest.

Fire crews on the scene said the fire was started by someone burning trash.  On Friday Feb. 18, state officials issued a no burning ban for Friday and Saturday.

The agencies also issued red flag warnings or fire danger statements for the entire state on Saturday.
