A 14-year-old boy was electrocuted after climbing a Duke Energy transmission tower Saturday.
Police said the incident happened at the end of King Charles Road.
The Durham watch commander said the boy was with his friends when he climbed a tower and came in contact with a live wire. Authorities said the boy fell down 50 feet.
“Our hearts and thoughts are with the family," said Tim Pettit, Duke Energy.
Pettit also said that members of the public should never climb a tower or enter a tower property because there could be high voltage electricity.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
