Whitakers woman killed in car wreck

A Whitakers woman was killed Saturday and two passengers were injured in a wreck involving a driver with no operator’s license.

Kimberly Hoyle, 39, was driving with Daniel Christopher Hoyle, 19, and Kelly Hoyle, 17, when a car driven by Apolonio Lopez-Acevedo turned and hit her on Benvenue Road toward I-95.

Hoyle died at Nash Healthcare Systems and Daniel and Kelly Hoyle were treated at Nash and then transported to WakeMed, where they were listed in stable condition.

Lopez-Acevedo, 46, was charged with Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle and No Operator's License.  He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and was transported to the Nash County Jail.

Juan Carlos Gomez-Acevedo, who owns the vehicle but was not in it at the time, was charged with permitting an unlicensed driver to operate a motor vehicle.
