Nine people were injured Saturday afternoon during a traffic accident on Rock Quarry Road, reported authorities.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Rock Quarry at Blazing Star near Poole Road.

Authorities said a FedEx truck pulled away from a stop light and hit an SUV, causing it to overturn. Nine people in the SUV were treated for bumps and bruises. No one was seriously injured.

The driver of the SUV will be cited for violations because there were not enough seat belts for every passenger in the vehicle.

Charges against the FedEx driver are pending.
