The mayor of Pinehurst is not stranded in London.
And she doesn't need money for a hotel room and a flight back to North Carolina.
Mayor Nancy Fiorillo told the Fayetteville Observer on Tuesday that her personal email account was hacked over the weekend and a number of messages were sent in her name.
The email says Fiorillo was mugged in London and lost everything and needed money for a hotel room and a flight home.
Fiorillo has not been in London.
Fiorillo said she had a problem with her personal email over the weekend and sent some account information to what she thought was her service provider.
She worries she may have sent information to the hacker. She's now worried about her credit cards.
