McCrory: I've disagreed some with NC Legislature

Pat McCrory Speaks On Ethics

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory says he disagrees with the some of the actions taken by the new GOP majority at the North Carolina Legislature during its first year in charge.

McCrory made the comments Wednesday as he officially filed his papers to become a candidate. A few dozen supporters cheered and held McCrory placards as he arrived at the State Board of Elections office in Raleigh.

McCrory wouldn't get into specifics about his areas of disagreement Wednesday but did say he didn't think it was appropriate for the Legislature to meet after midnight last month when it overrode one of Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue's vetoes. The former Charlotte mayor said he'd prefer that sessions be held when lawmakers are most alert.
