2 charged in connection with Chatham Co. home invasion

Two men from Chatham County have been arrested in connection with a home invasion near Siler City Friday night. 

The Sheriff’s Office arrested Tyler Morgan, 19, and Austin Savage, 18 early Saturday morning. 

Morgan and Savage are accused of forcing their way into a home at 858 Dave McCracken Road around 9 p.m. Friday.  The homeowner told authorities Morgan and Savage and two other men tied him up with duct tape and stole items from the home. 

Morgan and Savage are both charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

Both teens are in jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
