New warrants just released show a suspected cult leader’s fingerprints were found with two bodies in Durham.
Peter Moses is charged with the murders of Jadon Higginbotham, 4, and Antoinette McKoy, 28.
Investigators found them in separate, shallow graves in the backyard of a home on Ashe Street in June 2011. Moses’ mother, Sheilda Harris, used to live in the home, the warrants stated.
Higginbotham and McKoy were buried in trash bags and secured with clear tape and Moses’ fingerprints were found on the tape, according to the warrants.
According to the documents, McKoy was partly clothed with a telephone line wrapped around the mid part of her body and Higginbotham was fully clothed. Both died from gunshot wounds to the head, investigators stated.
Several trash bags that contained Higginbotham’s remains were sent to Toronto Police Services in Ontario, Canada for “supplemental latent examination,” according to the documents. That process is ongoing.
