A Johnston County man who was injured overseas is back home for further treatment.
Cory Harrison arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Monday morning.
The family received a donation from a local couple, who's remaining anonymous, which allowed them to pay for the $60,000 private flight for Cory.
Cory is now undergoing treatment at WakeMed in Raleigh.
"It's really exciting because instead of not seeing him at all, we can see him pretty much almost every day," said sister Kara Harrison, who was on hand at the airport to welcome Cory home.
Cory was working in Palma, part of a Spanish island, when he had returned to the youth hostel where he was staying, according to his father.
Cory had forgotten his keys and decided to try to climb up on the outside of the building. That’s when he fell four stories, breaking his back and landing on his head. Cory was in a coma since then, but his family says his condition seems to be improving. They said he's able to make some movements with his body and is in a "minimally conscious state."
"We're certainly pretty tickled to see how he was today," his father, Gary, said. "It was much better than I was thinking it was going to be."
