Emily Blunt and Academy Award winner Colin Firth will star in a film scheduled to shoot in Raleigh and Durham in mid-November, the Triangle Regional Film Commission announced Friday.

The Commission and the North Carolina Film Office worked with the film's producers for several months and led two location searches, finding numerous places that fit the desired settings for the movie.

"The Triangle Regional Film Commission was a great help and we look forward to shooting in the Triangle area," Executive Producer Lisa Bruce said in a statement.

The film, "Arthur Newman, Golf Pro," is about a couple who breaks into vacant homes and adopts the identities of the absent owners.

The dark comedy stars Firth ("The King's Speech," "Mama Mia!") as Wallace Avery/Arthur Newman, while Blunt ("The Adjustment Bureau," "The Devil Wears Prada") plays the role of Mike, a "beautiful [woman] who is … trying to leave her past behind."

First time feature-length film director Dante Ariola previously directed commercials for Coca Cola, Lexus, and Nike.

Gov. Bev Perdue signed legislation in 2010 that grants a 25 percent tax credit of up to $20 million on film productions that qualify by spending more than $250,000 in expenses within North Carolina.

Executive Vice President of the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau Loren Gold said, "We are very appreciative of the hard work done by the Triangle Regional Film Commission to bring film production economic impact and this exciting opportunity to our area."
